1st Saturday each month - Catalina Island Conservancy Presents: The HIKE
Join us for a different hiking adventure each month as we explore the island's interior. Transportation, discovery tools and a lunch for the HIKE are arranged by the Conservancy's Education Department. Every Wednesday & Saturday – Jewels of Avalon Tile Walking Tours
Discover a wonderful variety of historic, reproduction and contemporary tile installations during a docent led walking tour of downtown Avalon. Each hour-long tour begins at 2:00pm at the Catalina Island Museum with a brief introduction to the history of local tile manufacturing. Ticket prices include admission to the Museum. 1/14 Avalon Benefit 50 Mile Run
The 25 th Annual Run crosses Catalina Island from Avalon to Two Harbors and back! Run through the island's interior and see both sides of the island. 2/11 Buffalo Run Half Marathon & 5K
The ultimate in trail running using the East End trails of Catalina Island . This half-marathon course takes you from sea level to a 1600 foot elevation then returns to sea level. The event also features the popular flat and fast 5K course on the paved road out to Pebble Beach . 2/25 25th Annual Avalon Harbor Underwater Cleanup
This is the only time scuba diving is allowed in Avalon Bay , with 500+ expected volunteer divers collecting trash and debris. Event begins at 9am with an award ceremony to follow on Wrigley Stage at 1pm with prizes and give-away's donated by sponsors in the diving and travel related fields. Proceeds benefit the Catalina Island Conservancy Divers and the Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber on Catalina Island . 3/18 Catalina Marathon
The Catalina Marathon is one of the most scenic, challenging courses in the world! Traverse the off-road trails from Two Harbors to the finish in Avalon. The event also features a 5K, 10K, and Kids Run. The 5K is flat and fast on the paved road out to Pebbly Beach . The 10K is hilly and challenging but on the scenic, paved roads surrounding Avalon. 3/25 11th Annual Catalina Conservancy Ball, Casino Ballroom
Hosted by the Ls Angeles Yacht Club, this year's theme is “Splendors of the Sea.” This black tie event is held in the Avalon Casino Ballroom and includes dinner, big band dancing and a silent and live auction. 4/9 Annual Rubber Ducky Derby
Annual fundraising event to support the local children’s theatre company “Kids At Play”. The derby begins at noon on South Beach. 5/13 1st Annual Catalina Island Hoe-Down
An all-island community festival sponsored by the Catalina Island Saddle Club, Catalina Island Conservancy, and the Catalina Island Museum. The event will be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm at Middle Ranch, with live music, food, entertainment, games, booths and more. Bus transportation will be available from the plaza. Proceeds will help to restore Middle Ranch's historic buildings, including the original barn and Eagles Nest Lodge.
